How to remove highlight in books on Mac (Ventura13.3.1)?

Hi,

I have the same issue - I want to remove a highlight from a title in the epub.

When I control-click (press and hold control + click) on the highlighted text (title), the contextual menu does not show Remove highlight.

Is there any other way to remove the highlight, please? I tried deleting the book and replacing it with another copy of the epub, but the highlight still shows.

UPDATE:

The highlight was on a title in the epub and could not be removed.

Solution:

1. Select the highlighted text (the title) and more text after it (body text)
2. Highlight the whole selection (title + body text)
3. Right-click a part of the text that was not originally highlighted (body text)
4. In the contextual menu, click remove highlight

Control click anywhere within the highlighted text to bring up Remove Highlight.
