I purchased an orange iMac 24” from Apple Store, but the color has significantly faded when I removed the original plastic cover. This appears to be a quality issue, as I did not do anything to cause the color to fade.
The staff at the Genius Bar said that the appearance is not covered by the warranty, but now I believe it's a quality issue.
Be advised, the color of front of the iMac is significantly less brilliant than the back. I suppose you could call it muted. This is by design. It is the same on all of the colors.
