Support on Discontinued Apple Products

I'm pondering on procuring an iPhone 11 (that was confirmed to be discontinued since Sep 2022). There are official Apple stores in the location where I reside that still sell this model.

I don't doubt the legitimacy but I'm wondering if this gadget will still be supported.

In case people will recommend to me to procure the latest model, kindly let me provide a bit of a context. I'm considering to procure an "old" model because the person to whom I'll give it is not really addicted to smartphones. I mean, the person is not even asking for a smartphone. I just wanted to give the person a gadget for communication that the person can use when we are going out.

A2. Properly Selling an iPhone:

IMPORTANT: Perform as instructed here, including the backup creation and iCloud log out: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade In your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. If you don't, then the buyer may never be able to associate it to their own account.

If the person is not asking for a smart phone and has given no indication that they want one, do not give them one. They will most likely not be motivated to learn how to use it and will be frustrated. Buy them a basic phone that will allow them to call and text.

I used to work for a cell phone carrier and adult children were forever giving their older parents iPhones because they were "easy" or "intuitive". I ended up spending hours trying to teach the parents and finally processing the return and exchange for a basic phone.
