system data is taking up half my storage

I have no space left on my computer. Out of 250GB, 137GB is system data. I've used a disk cleaner app (Buho Cleaner), but it didn't make a difference.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

Ridding Of "System Data" (formerly called "Other"):

Back Up your Mac to an Eternal Hard Drive, and then Restore your Mac from the Backup you've just created. That's all there is to it. It's similar to what I've mentioned here in my User Tip: Clear Other Storage on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
