Launchpad rearranges when I restart

I have had this problem for months as well. I’ve tried doing a Time Machine backup and many of the other suggested fixes. None of them worked for me as well. However what did work for me was signing out of my iCloud account and then signing back in. I’m not sure why this worked but it’s the only way I was able to fix it. Best of luck!

This is something that is also happening when using the mac, that is probably unrelated to the matter at hand, but it is incredibly slow and prone to lag and overheating, but I'm mentioning it because it might be relevant (I have a separate question detailing the issue).

You can try from the Terminal.app reset to default, copy and paste:

defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true && killall Dock
