Did you enable Find My on the phone.....so you might be able to locate the phone on a map?
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support
If you did not make a backup of the phone, you will have to start all over again with a new phone. The data on your "old" phone is gone, unless you can locate the phone.
