Touch Bar issue Macbook Pro 2017

Dear reader,

My Macbook is currently experiencing an issue with the Touch Bar. The problem is that it is no longer working and it is also not showing up in the keyboard settings.

  • Settings
  • Keyboard
  • Touch Bar

Additionally, it is also not visible in the activity monitor. I found some solutions to this problem, but I cannot locate the process and therefore cannot restart it.

I bought the Macbook secondhand, so it could be a hardware problem. The fingerprint button does work.

  • Mac OS High Sierra
  • Macbook Pro 13 inch 2017

Thanks for your help and support

On an Intel Mac the best you can do if software issue—

resetting the SMC Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

if no resolve you can suspect a hardware issue:

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Outside the USA

Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support
