I have a macbook pro that I bought in March of 2017. I need to upgrade to macOS 13, but that upgrade is not available from System Preferences. I thought MacBook Pros from 2017 and later were compatible with macOS 13. What do I need to do to upgrade?

I just checked "About your Mac" (again) and it says that it's a 2016 model, so no Ventura for me.
Looks like it's time for an upgrade. Any suggestions? I use it to develop IOS apps, mostly as a hobby.
FWIW, 2017 MBPs were released in June so if you bought yours in March it is not a 2017 MBP and wouldn't be compatible with Ventura.
If you MacBook Pro qualifies to run Ventura go to the App Store and search for macOS 13 or Ventura. It should be available for download and installation.
Please go to the menu and click About This Mac.
Then take note of the model "MacBook Pro 16" and (early / late) and a year. Need that detail to determine the model more precisely.
Since the new Silicon Macs can't have their RAM upgraded by the user order at least 16 GB at the time of order. Many of the new M1s only have a max of 16 GB available but that should be sufficient.
