Purchase/Install same app on same ios device using different Apple ID without uninstalling

I have an iphone 6 with ios12 (updated to the latest supported version of ios12) and I can not install most of the new or updated apps that require ios13 or higher. I read somewhere that one can try to use his App Store Apple ID to login to a newer ios device that has ios13 or higher and then purchase the app(s) there on that device. Later, use the same Apple ID on the old ios device to download that purchased app(s) to see if there is any last supported/compatible version available for download.

I would like to ask lets say I wanna purchase an app called XYZ and I use my Apple ID to login to a newer device that supports latest ios version (in my case it is ios15 iphone of a friend). If my friend is already using that XYZ app on his device using his Apple ID, then can I log-in in to the App Store on his iphone using my Apple ID and purchase the app there without uninstalling the XYZ app on his iphone while I was signed in using his ID on his device?

You are correct, that may still work (I did this 3 years ago). By downloading the new versions on a newer Mac I noticed that Apple offered some older versions for my older equipment (both Mac and mobile), even though they were not available using that old equipment as a starting point. I stopped at that point because I did not want Numbers on my 16GB iPhone 4s.

Here's what I did:

If you can get access to your own account on a computer with the required minimum macOS version for the current version you can download the new version of the app to it. Now go to your old computer (or mobile device) and search for the application in the Mac App Store application. Try downloading it. It may offer an older version if one is available.

Note, if this is an app that uses a service there is no guarantee the old version will actually work with the service but I have found some old versions are available and provide partial functionality.

No, that is not possible.

iPhone 6 is an outdated iPhone.

If you have an outdated iPhone that cannot be updated to iOS 13 or later, many apps will not be able to download.

Outdated iPhone no longer meets the requirements for many apps.
