Trash won't stop trying to empty

Hey there folks.

Anyone have this problem? I click empty trash bin and it does.... but it just.... keeps... trying... It never stops unless I stop it manually.

slow deleting trash files m1 MacBook Air with Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1 before I installed Ventura my m1 MacBook Air would empty the "Trash" in seconds. It can now take several tries, up to hours to empty Trash, it can even empty it and simply keep running despite the fact that it has completed the task. Don't recall this problem occurring before the latest Mac OS, am I unique regarding this problem? Do I just keep doing what seems to be problematic for the laptop? Or am I expecting too much because it eventually does complete the task after a few tries? Please advise. Thanks Phil.

Try restarting the computer in the Safe Mode. That often fixes things. Hold down the Shift key on restart. Be patient as this can take some time to load while the OS is doing its repairs and clearing its caches. Then restart normally and see what happens.
