Microphone access to any application

I'm currently having a problem with microphone access on my MacBook Air, where I can't give access to applications that haven't requested mic access through Mac's privacy settings. Unlike how most apps would send a request for microphone access to the Mac, this one doesn't make a request, but I would still like to give access so that I'm able to have the option of using a microphone. Additionally, it's not even shown grayed out under the microphone tab. So, in the end, what I'm asking is if there is a way to give an application access to your microphone forcibly without the application making an initial request.

Interesting you should ask. I just checked mine and it also does NOT appear in the Microphone security section, yet mine works properly. Only things I can think of is to check the permissions of the app and insure it's set to read&write for your user login. Or uninstall it and re-install it.

My app isn't in the normal \Applications folder. It's in my username\Applications folder. From reading around, it seems like an app will only show up in that Microphone list if the app asks for permission first. Indicating that perhaps it isn't working properly.
