I've got a Pages table that I've been using on my Mac for several years. All of a sudden, I'm no longer able to "Add Row Below" or "Add Row Above" in that table. How can I fix this? Other Pages tables that I use on my Mac are still working fine.

If your table rows fill a page, and your Arrange panel's Object Placement is set to Stay on Page, then your ability to add rows above or below a selected row become inoperable.
In contrast, if Object Placement is Move with Text, and your Text Wrap is set to Inline with Text, then a row selection with right-click and choosing insert above or below will allow that new row addition, and if the table fills the page, the table will overflow by one row onto the next page.
Thanks but that didn't help. The settings were already Move With Text and Inline With Text. This particular table is 44 pages long, and on the very last page there only the top row has an entry, so there is plenty of room on that page, but when I try to add a row just below that top row, I still can't do it. So is there something else that could be causing my problem? I've got other Pages documents with tables on my Macbook and they are all working fine, i.e. I can easily Add Row Below or Add Row Above.
I have no 44-page tables in Pages to test here. That size of table screams spreadsheet application, not a word processing document.
Look at the settings for those documents whose tables do work for your goal, against this 44-page table that does not. It may even be something inherent in your version of Pages that detects that 44 page table and just gives up on you. I can't help further with this.
Thanks VikingOSX. I experimented with deleting the last page of the 44-page table, and voila, I am now able to "Add Row Below" easily again. So apparently there is simply a limit to how long a Numbers table can be, and I had exceeded that limit.

Hi Melissa, I know that the issue started after the OS update but I don’t know if that was the cause.

I just discovered that it happens, because max 999 rows can be added to one table.
Just add another new table to the same document and keep going.
