Navigation app lag over CarPlay

iPhone11 connected to Honda Connect head unit (Honda Jazz 2022) CarPlay via wireless connection works fine, however navigation apps have severe, 8-10s lag. Both Google maps and Waze suffer this issue. This lag makes the navigation service useless.

I see many similar reports on the web and I would like to know if there is any solution or ongoing investigation in this topic.

The lag is not present with Android Auto hence, I assume the problem is located in one Apple product, either in iOS or Carplay.

It's not just navigation: dictating messages in WhatsApp has become completely unworkable. I have a new Honda Jazz, purchased a year ago, and latterly this issue has gone from occasional/sporadic to constant.

I have already tried the following:

Changing leads

Changing phones (new iPhone 15 vs iPhone 11)

Resetting the phone

Forgetting/reconnecting the device

This happens on both wired and Bluetooth connections

I suspect, based on the above, that it's Honda and not Apple, but I'd appreciate any useful advice. For example, if anyone knows how to reset the vehicle's system without taking it in, that would be good.
