New iPhone 13 mini not playing songs in alarms

Just bought the iPhone 13 mini (iOS 16.4). Transferred old phone to new phone. All alarms are the obnoxious default. I can play the songs when I set them for an alarm. However, when the alarm plays at the scheduled time, I get the default. Was certainly a rude awakening this morning. Has anyone with this issue found a solution?

The song needs to be on the device and not on iCloud see the pic below for the Alarm clock to play a song.

I would like to add another point, alarm won’t play if the downloaded song is lossless. So delete the download and redownload in high quality.
