Using Persian Voices

Whenever I highlight persian text it thinks it’s arabic, reads it in the arabic voice and pronounces words totally differently.

I have the persian Dariush voice installed, and it doesn’t give me the option to remove the arabic voice.

Hey mshergill,

Are you using the VoiceOver feature when this occurs? If so we'd recommend reviewing this article as it provides information for using VoiceOver: Change your VoiceOver settings on iPhone - Apple Support

"Set the VoiceOver language

  1. Change the primary language: VoiceOver uses the same language you choose for your iPhone. To choose a different primary language, go to Settings  > General > Language & Region, then tap Add Language.
  2. Switch languages using the rotor: See Control VoiceOver using the rotor on iPhone.
  3. Automatically detect languages: VoiceOver can switch voices for text in different languages. Go to Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Speech, then turn on Detect Languages."

If that doesn't help, you may want to provide some additional information about the situation.

Which model of iPhone and version of iOS is this happening with?

Does this happen in every app you use, or just one app specifically?

Thanks!
