Can I sync Music app between two Macs?

I sync music and videos in my Music app between my desktop iMac, and my iPhone. Simple.

(I don't stream - all music and videos are downloaded from CDs and DVDs.)

My question is, can I sync my MacBook Air with my iMac - like I do my iPhone - so I can carry my music and videos when traveling?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.3

Hi there Jagmurcredrea,

In order to share media from your iMac to your MacBook Air, this can be done by setting up Home Sharing. These steps from Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices show how to set this up:

Set up Home Sharing on your Mac
1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click General in the sidebar.
2. Click Sharing on the right.
3. Turn on Media Sharing, then click the Info button  next to it.
4. Select Home Sharing, then enter your Apple ID and click Turn on Home Sharing. Use the same Apple ID for every computer or device on your Home Sharing network.
After Media Sharing is turned on, Home Sharing is selected

Once Home Sharing is enabled, you can access and stream the media library from your iMac on any devices that are connected to your local network. If you would like to access media on your MacBook Air while not connected to your local network, you can import media that you want to have access to onto your MacBook Air. Import media using Home Sharing in Music on Mac

You can also manually move content from your iMac to your MacBook Air using an external drive or a cloud-based drive like iCloud Drive. Do so using this: Import music from a computer to Music on Mac

We hope that helps!
