No sound from Amazon Workspaces app
I use the Amazon Workspaces app to connect to a Windows Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) on Amazon's cloud servers. I have an Mac Studio connected to a Studio Display.
When I had my sound setting set to play sound through the Mac Studio's internal speakers and used the Amazon Workspaces app, any sound produced by the Windows VDI would be audible.
When I had my sound setting set to play sound through the Studio Display's speakers and used the Amazon Workspaces app, any sound produced by the Windows VDI would be inaudible.
As it turns out, the only way for sound from the Amazon Workspaces app to be heard on the Studio Display's speakers is to change the settings in the Apple Midi Setup app.
Open the Apple Midi Setup app. Select the Studio Display speaker in the left hand pane. Then select Configure Speakers...
In the configuration window, select the dropdown list next to the label, Configuration:, select 2.0 Surround.
Once you restart your Amazon Workspaces app, you should hear sound.
