Brother's website suggests they don't plan to make a driver for this printer and Ventura, yet AirPrint seems to be slow and capable of accessing only a few of the printer's facilities.
Please, any suggestions?

Unless the macOS 10.15 Catalina driver still works, AirPrint would be the way to use this printer with macOS 13 Ventura.
Agreed - and that's what's being used at present. But so many printer features seem to be inacessible when used via AirPrint, so I will try to use the Catalina driver.
Maybe someone here knows if a driver for one of the other Brother printers might also work?
I solved a similar issue with my Brother HL-L3210CW disabling IPv6 on the printer.
