How to disable the swipe left for camera, but keep the camera app on iPhone

I see this request over and over and over. It goes to show that Apple engineers do not use iPhones. If they did, they would see that half the time, when they put it in their back pocket, if their thumb brushes the screen, it will open the camera and drain the battery. Can at least one person at Apple stop counting their stock options, and do their job and fix this bug, that has existed for years!
