Apple World Travel Adapter Kit -- plug types?

I am aghast that the "WORLD" Travel Adapter Kit ignores the whole continent of Africa.

54 countries. 1.2B million people. They have electric plugs too.

Beyond that your information should actually also list the plug types by industry standard letter.

Even if the Apple Kit included the adapter that you needed, you generally only get 1 adapter in the kit that will work in a given country.

How many of us travel internationally and only need 1 plug adapter at our destination? My wife and I travel with a laptop, iPhones, iPad, razor, hairdryer, etc, so we need a minimum of 4-5 adapters to handle things.

It's much easier to do a little research and find out what adapter is used in a given country and buy 4-5 from Amazon or another source. Sure, you can wait and buy adapters at the airport shops, but expect to pay 3 times the price.

What Apple calls a "European Adapter" won't work in Italy or Switzerland by the way. Even the European adapter in the Apple Kit does not usually fit all that snugly in the wall sockets in most European countries.

If you have not already purchased the Apple Kit, I would advise people to pass. You get to your destination and maybe one adapter will work and all the others just sit in the bag.

I find it astounding that Apple would sell something calling it WORLD adapter kit and the packaging lists North America, China Mainland, Korea, Brazil, Australia/NZ, Europe, UK/Hong Kong/Singapore ....... what's missing??? Not a mention of Africa?!? A whole continent of 54 countries and 1.2B people. I'm traveling to South Africa and Mozambique. Nada. Zilch.

As Bob Timmons indicated, buying separate plug adapters is a good idea.

Also, it is good practice to verify the voltage and frequency for a power adapter, charger, or any other electrical equipment before use. Look for a label/text on the device in question (it can be difficult to read, so a magnifying glass may help). For example, modern Apple power adapters typically have an input voltage range of 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz.
