Want to update my software

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

• If you have an iPhone 5S or 6/6plus, the highest you can update to is 12.5.7

• If you have an iPhone 6S through 7, you can update to 15.7.5

• If you have an iPhone 8 or higher, you can update to 16.4.1

Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Update Using a Computer:

Rather than ridiculously waiting oh so long, power off your iPhone, and then attempt updating through use of a computer. Use my User Tip: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip. If any updates are available, they will be installed, sure enough.

An iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or iPhone SE 1 isn't capable of 16 or above; they require an A11 or better CPU. To install 15.7.5, use a computer or the Software Update function in Settings.
