I have 4 mailboxes on my mac, and have lost many emails from one of them. I have Time Machine backups, but only want to restore the one mailbox that has an issue. I cannot figure out in V10 which subdirectory to restore. Is there a way to figure out mapping of mailboxes to subdirectory names? All the names are nonsense strings of numbers. Thanks.

Right, I've done that, but several of the subdirs have folders called "inbox" and there doesn't seem to be any way to figure out which is the right one. Time stamps are not helpful either. Seems like there should be a way in the mail interface to see the directory structure, but I can't find it.
If the Mailbox is one you created and is on your Mac look in each of those folders and in one you'll find all of the local mailboxes:
If you've deleted that mailbox go into Time Machine and go back to just before you deleted it and recover the that particular mail box. You may have to reboot your Mac before it gets fully recognized.
List view you can go to the V10 folder and then expand the coded folders to display a tree of sorts. Or you could resize the columns view to do similar.
Copy the mailbox to a local folder and then create a new mailbox in Mail and import from the old mailbox.
