Enable dictation button is absent from settings

I have tried going to Settings > General > Keyboard, and the ‘enable dictation’ option is simply not there.

I use to have the dictation microphone button in the bottom right of my keyboard, and it has simply disappeared and I don’t know how to get it back.

I tried updating my phone, and I tried turning it off and on again, but the enable button is simply not there….

Please see image of my current keyboard settings below.

I figured it out! I got my dictation to turn back on! The answer was in the Content & Privacy Restrictions Settings. You can find it by following the below:

Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps - Enable Siri and Dictation

Thank you so much for sharing how to restore the microphone icon I’ve always used on my keyboard!

It was just suddenly missing one day and I’d tried everything! You were right—Go to Settings—Screen Time—Content and Privacy.

My microphone is back!! And I remember messing around with the privacy settings in screen time a couple months ago before this happened. Lesson learned!

Thank you!!
