Ventura update hangs

My mistake.Tried to update from Ventura 13.2 to 13.3.1 on 6 month old MacBook Air M2, 256/24.

Install hangs at 5 minutes. No further progress.

Tried installing/updating in Safe Mode. Same result. Hangs. No further progress.

Reboot/restart and tried again. Same result. Hangs at 5 mins remaining and no further progress.

Have given up trying to "upgrade" and will stay at 13.2. Perhaps 13.4 upgrade will work.

... and I have lost 25GB of storage with all the failed installers/

most frustrating!

Thanks for reaching out EJW Tas,

It sounds like you're trying to update macOS but getting stuck. We can help.

You've already tried some great steps like restarting and using safe mode, but since you didn't see any improvement you can connect with Apple directly using either http://getsupport.apple.com or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service to help resolve this issue.

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Per the above post did you try safemode then updating?

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

After which if that doesn't help:

Have installed Ventura 13.0 through and including all versions between 13.0 to and including 13.4.

This has been done on 3 Different M1 / M2 computers without any issues

Have used the Software Update Applet in System Setting as well as downloading the Full Version 12.xx GB method - No issue here

Go figure

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster.

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

1 - Disk Cleaner

2  - Third Party Security Software

They should be removed as per Developers Instructions
