What is SWHelper? I am trying to install an HP printer on a new MacBook Air and a window pops up saying: "SWHelper want to make changes. Enter your password to allow this." There is no box for not remembering the password. What is SWHelper? How do I find out the password?

I tried the password I use to log onto my Mac, as well as a few others, and they don’t work.
As for HP, they no longer support my printer. At this stage, the solution seems to be to buy a new printer.

If the operating system for some reason is blocking access to something printer-related, it could mean that a driver is old, a certificate is outdated, or that the software is from a not trusted source. Which exact HP printer model do you have?

It does seem to be the situation. Printer is too old and no longer supported by HP.
