apple pencil replacement

Hello! I purchased an apple pencil along with an ipad air 5th gen using a student promo that apple had. I took great care of the apple pencil, but one day it suddenly stopped working, and i have no idea why. It would appear as « connected » but i cannot use it at all. I asked my friend, who gave it a look and told me that i should replace it. It has been less than a year since my purchase, can i get a replacement for free?

You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad and Apple Pencil. Here you will be able to explore your available options.
