FCPX Application Freezes Constantly

Hello everyone,

These past couple of days I have been having a major issue with FCPX. I am editing a feature film and whenever I open my master timeline the FCPX application freezes (I get beachballing which does not go away.) Eventually, I have to force quit. I am not sure what else to do. My computer is a Mac mini with an Apple M2 Pro chip and 16 GB of memory. The hard drive that I am editing my project off of has 21.74 TB available. FCPX works just fine when I open other, more smaller projects; it is just my master timeline which is about 50 minutes. I attached my EtreCheck report.

Any ideas?

Thank you for posting the report.

Which drives have your media and library with the problem?

I see that there are a huge number of very big drives, but they don't show under mounted volumes. I imagine that they are attached but unmounted. Is that correct?

The FCP application has been crashing, but also Finder is having high CPU use, and mds (associated with Spotlight). All these may be due to problems with one or more of the drives.

I'd try disconnecting all but the drive(s) essential to this and test.

It is possible that there is some bad media or that there is some corruption in the drive(s).

I imagine that you may already have done that, but: delete render files, and also don't forget to delete FCP preferences whenever it crashes or behaves unexpectedly.
