Apple Watch Alarms do not have sound

I have an iPhone 13 Pro, iOS Version 16.4.1 and an Apple Watch SE watchOS 9.4

The watch used to have an amazing alarm, by far my favorite. However, it suddenly stopped making the sounds for the alarm and it just vibrates.

I've had some calls with Apple Support for around 6 weeks now, and the ultimate resolution was to remove the "silent mode" in my watch so that I can have the alarm sound in the morning?

I dislike this, since it means that if I receive a message, email or call, it will buzz during the night.

Is there some setting I'm doing wrong?

Edit: In Iphone Health > Sleep > Your Schedule > Edit, I have my alarm on as well as the volume in around 75%

In my apple watch, sounds (like the Birdsong alarm) are audible.

I’m saying: i don’t ever want to turn off silent mode as “alarms will still sound”, but perhaps not the bedtime alarm and only regular ones.

Settings: sleep mode on at midnight “do not disturb”.

by default I always have it in silent mode.

”Do not disturb” works as intended, but if I have the silent mode on it won’t work, even though it explicitly says it will make sounds for the alarm.

I’m using the Health app > Sleep > bedtime.

settings On my phone match everything on all the apple guides that are usually posted, but Silent Mode is what makes the health app alarm basically useless.

Apple support added a profile to my watch to check the logs. Their answer? This is the design.

I’m sorry, but no. It worked great for 3 months and then one random update (either on the watch or iPhone) and it just vibrates without sound unless I turn off silent mode..

edit: sorry if I sound upset, but I genuinely am. I expect automation taking over as it has, but the watch is the one thing I can’t automate

Are you saying that turning off silent mode works but you don't want to turn it off in case you get woken by a message? Then you will not hear a sound but there is an alternative.

What you need is to have Silent Mode turned off, but add a Do Not Disturb Focus schedule for sleep time. Alarm will still sound but you can control who can message you.

There are three types of alarm sounds, Standard alarm (Ping), Standard Alarm in Nightstand/Bedside mode (arpeggio), and Sleep Schedule alarm (Dunno, never used it). It might help if you tell us which you are asking about.
