Can be due to mails days to sync was set to 2 weeks. Go to mail settings and see make the change.

Thanks, that was the issue. About a month ago the Apple support had to delete and create a new email account. Therefore, it was setup with the default limit. Changed it to No Limit and now all my emails are synced. 😀
