keep getting password incorrect after trying this
i keep trying to use exchange but it won't let me sync as it says password incorrect when it's correct

Probably you have enabled two-step verification for your Microsoft account.
Microsoft Support says:
Go to the Security basics page and sign in to your Microsoft account. Select More security options. Under App passwords, select Create a new app password for iOS. A new app password is generated and appears on your screen.
