My Mail app shows old messages on top

Old emails appear on top of the mailbox, and in the preview, in the top right corner, it shows time as if they were received today.

It's creating an absolute mess in the mailbox.

I have checked that "Show most recent message on top" is checked in setting. It still does not help.

Mail in inbox after a certain date is deleted. Try changing the “group as conversation” setting.
