Why are my iMessages not sending and send as text messages

Why are my iMessages not sending and send as text messages? I just got a new iPhone 14 pro, I did the most recent update trying to get my iMessages to work, and I didn’t. I also have tried resetting my iMessages, resetting my iPhone, and messing with my settings. HELP!

Are you certain you're sending these messages to someone with an Apple device?

Are you possibly sending a group message, with one or more group members lacking an Apple device?

Might the recipient have not properly configured her/his device(s) so they cannot receive iMessages at the address you have chosen?
