Can’t add an Apple Music playlist to my Apple Watch

I have an Apple Watch (OS 9.4) that won’t allow me to add a playlist from my Apple Music account.

After going to Apple Music in the Apple Watch app on my iPhone (iOS 16.4.1), I select “add music”; then select a “playlist” and tap the “+” icon on the top right of the screen. I get a message that says, “Could not connect to Apple Watch”. It says, “Make sure your Apple Watch is nearby, powered on, and not in Airplane Mode and then try again”.

I verified that neither my iPhone or Apple Watch is in Airplane Mode. Both are powered on and in close proximity. Bluetooth and WiFi are both enabled.

Any ideas why this isn’t working?

Same here, exactly same issue. Highly annoying as the new apple watch should work seamlessly with new iPhone. Also when in gym it is quite handy to have a playlist downloaded into your watch to not having to drag the phone in a pocket around the gym.

Apple please fix.
