Incoming FaceTime Video delayed by minutes

Whenever I use Facetime on my MacBook Air, the incoming video is glacially slow. Like literally one frame per minute. There will be a 15 minute delay from when someone comes into the picture and when I actually see it. My video and audio are fine for the other end, and their audio is fine. Just not the video. I have lots of space on my computer. I have closed the program, restarted my computer. Nothing helps. It's been like this for months. It is super frustrating.

Hello mountc,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

If you're having trouble with FaceTime not working as expected, you'll first want to ensure that your Mac is fully up to date. This can help you check for any available updates: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

If this issue continues after updating, could you please check if this same thing happens when connected to another Wi-Fi network? Testing that will help narrow down what may be happening here.

Cheers!
