I downloaded the apple TV app on my TV via Amazon Fire TV. I finally was able sync my ipad and my apple account and get the app working, but I can only watch 1 free episode of shows and then I'm asked to subscribe which I would love to do but there is no subscribe link/button/option on the app or in Amazon. What do I need to do? Get an apple device/box to attach to my TV? Subscribe on the apple.com website? Help. Super frustrating. Many obstacles.

You may use your iPad to subscribe. Subscriptions are account properties, valid for any of your devices, when signed in with the Apple ID account that has the subscription.
Unfortunately, at this time, the Apple TV app for Fire TV devices doesn’t support in-app financial transactions. You can buy, rent, or subscribe on another supported device (e.g. iPhone, or iPad, or web) and then watch in the Apple TV app on your Amazon Fire TV device [2].
To sign in to the Apple TV app on third party devices, find the in-app Settings (sprockets wheel icon), then Accounts, to sign in with the Apple ID account that has the subscription. Then the supported subscriptions on your account should be recognized, giving you access to all of its subscription content.
