If you want to permanently delete items how do you do that? Those deleted items seem to be hidden and no instructions are published other than wait 30 days. Sort of an emergency situation, need to share docs then delete, etc.

So I can not find the way to do this permanent deletion on my MacBook Pro, but did find a way on my iPhone as outlined in this support article: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support
Since all my Apple devices share Messages on iCloud I am home the next SYNC will purge those delted Messages everywhere.
Delete from recently deleted or trash.
The challenge is deleting Messages. As best as I can tell deleted messages go into a "delete after 30 day" category. Finding that "folder" and deleting them is another thing.
