Hi pablosag220,

It sounds like you have started on a great troubleshooting path already. A restart can resolve many minor issues with your MacBook.

Do you see the search field in Preview? Apple notes that you may need to resize the search Preview window to see the search field.

Find text in PDFs in Preview on Mac - Apple Support

1. In the Preview app  on your Mac, open a PDF.
2. In the Preview toolbar, type a word or phrase in the search field (you may need to resize the window to see it).
3. To find an exact phrase, enclose the phrase in quotation marks.

If you're still not able to search, try opening the PDF in Preview and export it as a PDF. This creates a new PDF file made from the Preview app that may resolve the search issue.

Export PDFs and images in Preview on Mac - Apple Support

1. In the Preview app  on your Mac, open the file you want to export.
2. Choose File > Export, then select a file type from the Format pop-up menu.
