Apple music playback speed

Sometimes, when I try to play a song on apple music, it will start playing and speed up (a five minute song plays back in a few seconds). This happens on strong and weak connections, as well as streamed and downloaded songs. It only seems to happen when I use the old Apple Stereo Headphones (the perfectly round ones). Anyone know what's causing this?

Sudden Quality Drop on Apple Music Hi, I am experiencing quality issues (drops) on Apple Music with hi-res lossless. The music continues to play but the sound quality suddenly drops drastically. I tried this on various networks with the same result, both on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. Example Song: Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton Here the quality drops around min 3:55 This issue only appears when I listen to the entire song, when I ff to min 3:55, there is no drop in quality. This happens to me on various songs

Test to see if this happens with another pair of headphones. If it doesn't, it may be an issue with the EarPods themselves.
