"Emergency" and "Medical ID" do not show on my iPhone 6 home screen

On my old iPhone 6 (iOS 12.5.7.) which is now used by my son, the Emergency button and, consequently, Medical ID do not show on the Home Screen. The option "Show when locked" is activated in the Health app.

I searched in the settings but found nothing strange. I do not know what to do to have the Emergency button on the Home Screen back again.

Thank you for any advice.

The "Emergency" and "Medical ID" options are available on iPhones running iOS 8 or later, so your iPhone 6 should be able to access these features then...

  1. Check if your iPhone is running iOS 8 or later. You can check this by going to Settings > General > About > Version.
  2. Restart your iPhone by holding down the power button until you see the "slide to power off" option, then slide to turn off. Wait a few seconds, then hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears.
  3. Check if the Emergency and Medical ID options are now available on your iPhone. To access Emergency SOS, press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons until the Emergency SOS slider appears. To access Medical ID, swipe up from the lock screen and tap "Emergency" > "Medical ID."

Thank you, SravanKrA.

When I press and hold the side button and one of the volume ones, the screen shows the slide the power off option (see attachment). This is only if the screen is locked; if unlocked, it just changes the volume level.

When I swipe up from the lock screen, only the apps from the Control Centre show up. No Medical ID (see attachment). Same thing if the screen is unlocked.

I discovered that the only way to show the Emergency option is when I deliberately push the Home button twice (see attachment).

When I had this phone, it used to behave the way you describe. Now I do not know what happened. Aside from resetting all contents and settings in order to give my son a kind of new phone and updating the iOS, we did nothing else.

At least now I know how to make the Emergency option show up.

Thank you.
