Final Cut Pro Library can't save this document in icloud Drive

Hi there,

I attempted to open and create a new library in Final Cut Pro, but I keep receiving an error message that says, "FCP (Final Cut Pro) Library can't save this document in iCloud Drive." While some libraries are saved on my local MacBook, they cannot be opened, and new files cannot be created.

I found a similar question and tried to save it in other places but can't make it.

I believe I may have used an external hard drive when I last used FCP, but I'm not entirely sure.

Do you have any suggestions for a solution? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Looking a little bit more closely at your screenshot, I think I can tell you what is going on.

You have (perhaps without realizing it) activated "Documents and Desktop in iCloud". This means basically what it says: your Documents folder and your Desktop folder and saved and synced to iCloud.

As you are trying to use or save a library in a subfolder of Desktop, you get this alert, and cannot save there.

Luis! Initially, I didn't understand what you meant, but now I do. I copied one of the libraries to a local folder, and I am now able to use Final Cut again.

I have a question: do you happen to know why all of my folders, including my Desktop folder, are being saved to iCloud? It's strange because I have saved and used them in the past without this issue. I would greatly appreciate any further assistance you can provide.

Thank you again for your support.
