Ghost message

All my messages are read yet I have one still showing. I’ve tried updating my software, turning my phone off and turning iMessages off - nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Messages never received My phone is just deleting non-iPhone messages from existence whenever I’m out of range instead of just politely delivering them to me once I’m back in service. It delivers iPhone messages (blue ones) once I’m back in range but none of the non-iPhone (green ones). Even if I just put my phone in airplane mode for two minutes, any texts sent to me during this time are never delivered to me. (Not after I turn airplane mode off. Not after turning phone off and on. No sign of these messages ever.) How do I fix this? (I have an iPhone 11, and I’ve recently updated to latest update. Doing this before and after update).

Incorrect unread imessage flag on iPad - ghost messages Ok so I have been trying to solve this problem for months - tried all the suggested fixes on this forum including turn off iMessage in settings then turning it back on… selecting edit then select messages then clicking ‘read all’… removing the app… restarting, reinstalling, upgrading iOS….Nothing worked. Then my son found a fix from another site - Siri! Ask Siri to read your unread messages - it will read any ghost message/s ie the ones that you can’t see but are unread.. for me this was a text from my voicemail service saying someone called but didn’t leave a message. This message wasn’t showing as being unread on my phone or my iPad. Siri read the ghost message and now the unread message flag has disappeared!!!! Wooohoooo!!!! I was literally ready to throw my iPad in the bin that’s how frustrated I was!!! I am writing this solution here because it appears 10000s of people have this same issue but because Apple keeps closing the questions I can’t post the solution… so here it is - Siri! ipad 6th gen iOS 16.6

Hello,

Check for a filter being applied. Under "Messages" there are different categories. Make sure that "All Messages" is selected:

Use Messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks for the help. In unread message it shows no messages but there’s still a “1” red notification.
