Why are My notifications are silenced when I don’t intend to?

Did you check to see if the mute switch on the side of the phone just above the volume buttons is engaged?

Have you enabled Scheduled Summary?

Settings > Notifications > [Select the App that you are having trouble receiving immediate notifications]

See the pic below for a few examples. Please select immediate delivery.
