How come my music is “Greyed out” in IMovie?

How come my music is “Greyed out” in IMovie so I can’t use any of it except 3 random songs? They are from ITunes not Imusic?

Downloading an Apple Music song to iTunes will not remove the DRM protection. Apple Music is a subscription service that gives you a license to listen to the song for personal use for as long as you pay for the subscription. One does not own the songs, but only renting it. If the songs weren't DRM protected, one could simply download hundreds of songs to one's computer and then cancel the subscription. That would frustrate the intent of the program. Music for iMovie I have plenty of purchased iTunes music and music downloaded into iTunes yet nothing show up the Audio files of iMovie?? Zero content. How can I get a song into the iMovie audio file?

We need to determine whether the problem is the song or iMovie. Open side by side an iMovie project and your iTunes library and drag one of the grayed out songs from the iTunes library into the iMovie timeline. See if it plays.
