Lost phone in lake

If you had the phone set up for automatic backups to iCloud, the most recent backup occurred the day before you lost the phone.

See the last section in the Apple Support document linked below.....Find and manage backups stored in iCloud.....to see how to use a Mac to access the backups stored in iCloud.

Whoops!

Sync Through iCloud:

If you no longer have the iPhone, you'll have to sync through iCloud. Items will be accessible between the two.

As an Example...

Accessing Photos:

I. On an iPhone:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
3. Tap: iCloud
4. Tap: Photos
5. Enable: iCloud Photos

II. On a Mac:

Access from iCloud, Manually:

1. Go To: icloud.com
2. Select: Photos
3. Download: the Photos

If you have completed a recent backup of the phone to iCloud....before.....it was lost in the lake......

You can use the iCloud backup to restore data onto the new phone, so your "new" phone will look like your "old" phone did on the date of the backup.
