Hi, my iPhone screen’s top half is unresponsive to touch, at first only a small band of horizontal portion of screen wouldn’t touch. And it got immediately fixed after I closed and opened the iPhone. But the area has increased and now more than half of the screen isn’t responsive. And nothing happens when I close, restart the iPhone

This may very well a hardware issue. Your iPhone XS may have a failing Touch Screen. I recommend that you have your iPhone examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and a resolution.

(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:
(2) After you have executed the Force Restart successfully - Use the 12W charger and see whether the touch sensitivity issue is resolved.

Also, I forgot to mention. I bought a third party counterfeit Apple usb c 20 watt power adapter just before all of this happened. It charged very fast, but I think it caused the problem. Can such accessories cook the iPhone?
ok, this might come as weird but I tried using a different charger for a few minutes (although I’m not sure it is because of that) the new charger is a 5W original Apple adapter for my iPad mini 2 with a third party cable) and to my surprise the area of unresponsiveness has shrunken a little bit.
EDIT #2: No it is not, it’s still back again and increased to the same horizontal line I sent you in the first post. At this point I really don’t know why did this happen. It decreased and increased again.
Ok I have done it, but the issue still persists. It also varies from app to app sightly. I used Reddit and for a few seconds a large part of the screen works but exiting to Home Screen it still doesn’t work.
Edit: Yes the screen touch active portion has increased just like I told you
Also, my screen rotation doesn’t work anymore. My repairs provider isn’t supported (I live in Pakistan and the only supported Apple repairs are in Islamabad and Karachi and I don’t live there)

Ok, I tried resetting my phones setting and stopped using the 20watt fake charger. And the area of touch disability keeps s decreasing whenever I open the phone. At this point I just wanna know if it’s a software or hardware problem.
That depends on the third party that manufactured that 20W charger. I doubt that the touch screen issue is due to the charger but then again I cannot state it with confirmation.

It’s 81% and I have original battery I think. But a replaced screen.
The max capacity at 81% would cause battery drain – so have the battery replaced.
And the non genuine screen could cause the screen to be unresponsive to touch – so have the screen replaced.

As you've been told twice before here, it's a hardware problem: A weak, aging battery and a non genuine screen.
