change Mac calendar

OK, this is pretty funny. In my Mac (Monterey 12.6.4) Calendar, one date shows a noted event "Joe Blow's birthday!" That date is NOT Joe Blow's birthday. I click on it, and try to erase it, and I get "You can't change events in the "Contacts" calendar." "Only the calendar administrator and any delegates with permission can make changes to read-only calendars. To make changes to the calendar, contact the calendar administrator."

Duh, this is MY COMPUTER. Nobody else uses it. Who is the calendar administrator, and why isn't it me? How can I edit this event?

OK, I figured it out. On the left hand side of the Calendar, there are check boxes for which library contributes to the calendar. You just keep unchecking them until the event goes away. This event was in Google Contacts, which means that Joe Blow actually did it in his Google accpunt, probably as a anonymous response to a birthday question. I'll get him to remove it.
