upgrade my system Catalina 10.15

I have filed my turbotax for years on my Mac but this year turbo tax is not compatible with Catalina 10.15 that is on my computer. Software update on my computer is not showing any updates for me to us. What are my options?

What model year is your iMac? The model year of an iMac is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

A late 2012 through late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later. See: How to download macOS - Apple Support

A mid 2014 and late 2014 iMac can be upgraded to the latest version of Big Sur macOS 11 but no later. See: How to download macOS - Apple Support

A late 2015 iMac can be upgraded to the latest version of Monterey macOS 12. See:How to download macOS - Apple Support

A 2017 or later iMac can be upgraded to the current version of Ventura macOS 13. See: How to upgrade to macOS Ventura - Apple Support

If you cannot or don't want to upgrade macOS on your iMac, another option is to use the online version of TurboTax. I have used it for several years even though I have an up to date Mac. It is very good and the current year will run on OS X 10.14 Mojave or later. See: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/system-requirements

The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the year your Mac was released.

Click the  (Apple) menu at the top of your screen and choose About This Mac.

Check the Compatibility of your Mac with newer versions of macOS:

➡️ macOS 11 Big Sur is compatible with the Macs listed here

➡️ macOS 12 Monterey is compatible with the Macs listed here

➡️ macOS 13 Ventura is compatible with the Macs listed here

If your Mac is incompatible with the newer macOS versions, you may still be able to use TurboTax's online version.

If you cannot make a secure web connection with Safari, then give another browser a try.

Firefox browser and Brave browser are two that I believe will run in Catalina and are still being updated.
