M2 Macbook Air crashing unexpectedly

My Macbook Air crashed several times within the last weeks, i.e. I grab a coffee and when returning to my desk the screen is black and I have to restart it… What's the cause of my macbook crashing? Can anyone help to locate the issue?

MacOS 13.3 dropped on the 27th March— so was this before, after the update

or both before& after‚ you do not make this clear

A SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, font cache, etc., third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

Follow previous advise > First

Generally Crashes can be caused by Hardware Failures and or Third Party Kernel Extensions installed and used on this computer

The suggested " Safe Boot " should help to identify if this is a Kernel Extension issue

Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading. It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance

This will only help if I can figure the crashes no longer occur while my Mac is booted in safe mode, right? This does not seem a viable option, I'd need to run my Mac in safe mode for several days... Not a option I can continue working with... Or didn't I get the idea behind?

1 - If running in Safe Mode for say 30 minutes and the computer does Not Crash - that could be a signal of a Third Party Extension as being the cause of this issue.

2 - If running in Safe Mode for the 30 minutes and it Does Crash - IMHO it could be an indicator of a Hardware Issue

Notation on point 2 - I will defer to the More Senior Contributor on that point
