When I used to type a message hitting the space bar twice used to insert a period, now it doesn't do that. No, it's not my phone's settings either. Please fix

Has anyone else noticed that tapping the space at twice no longer brings up a period automatically? I've checked and it's not a settings issue, I made sure of that

Text Curser disappears on iOS 17.0.3 Correcting texts using the cursor has become an issue since I upgraded to iOS 17.0.3. Sometimes I type a very long text, and if I have to go back to the top of the text, I can’t. The cursor goes under the name at the top of the page, along with the top part of the text message, and I can’t get to it. Every once in a while, if I put the cursor between the text and the top of the page, the text might come down a sentence at a time, but it usually doesn’t last, and I can’t correct what I need to. Is anyone else having this issue? I’ve read about people’s cursors jumping around, but what happens is the part of the text message I want to go to goes up underneath the name, and the cursor and the rest of the text are at the bottom, and I can’t get to the top. I’ve also been noticing, as I do talk to text a lot, that when I say period, I will get a period, but it will be a space after my last word. What’s up with that?

Memoji "Three Dot" Key Not Working in Messags Hi All! When typing a text in the message app, I have an issue with Apple memojis. After clicking to use the emoji keyboard, I can scroll to the far left to see the Apple memoji I created. You can see eight "frequently used" memojis and then a key with three dots. I am unable to click on this three dot key to select other memojis. This does not happen in mail, WhatsApp, or any other app where I can create messages - only in the message app. Does anyone know why this is happening? It's been like this for over a year, but I cannot think of anything that caused it. I have the most recent iOS and plenty of storage. Resetting the phone does not help. I look forward to hearing back! Thanks.

I checked in settings again and it was turned off. I don’t know how these toggles get deactivated from time to time. I don’t have anyone else use my device and my husband doesn’t know Apple. Thx for your response-it’s working now.

Is it the Messages app that it does not work? Just tried my iPhone on OS16 and a double space after a letter in Messages inserts a period. I have the Shortcut turned on in settings.
