Using Rode Lavalier Go with Macbook (M1) pro

Hello All, I just bought Lavalier Go and SC6 adapter to use them with my macbook (M1) pro. However mac doesnt see Lavalier as a microphone. I tried playing with sound settings. But i couldnt make it work. (I tried without the sc6 and mac doesnt see the mic as external mic, only as external headphones in the output sound section.)

Here is the connection:

Do you guys know what might be the problem? It is my first time buying a lavalier mic so I dont know the requirements.

Hello All. I wanted to give an update. I bought rode TRS to TRRS connector and it worked. Just dont buy SC6 for this issue. I was deceived by another post. You need TRS to TRRS connector or type-c sound connector.

Hi there karaposu,

It sounds like you're running into some issues connecting an external microphone to your Mac. While this might be a case where you'll need to get in contact with the microphone manufacturer, we'd like to share a suggestion that could help to rule out potential macOS-related causes.

We recommend trying to set up a new administrator account on the Mac, and then sign in there to see how the microphone and adapter work. If you find the issue happens in a new user as well, that's when you'd want to contact the manufacturer. On the other hand, if it works in the new user, there might be other troubleshooting you can try.

Here's more about New user or group setup on Mac:

To add a new user or group, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Users & Groups  in the sidebar, then click New Account on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
Note: You may need to enter your password to access the New Account window.

If you find the same results in a new user, this will help you reach out to the manufacturer: Contact a third-party vendor

Best wishes.
